The 2025 Annual Sector Report, compiled from data across 500+ registered NGOs, reveals a maturing sector that is increasingly aligning with national economic goals.
The Winners: STEM and TVET
Funding for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education saw a 15% year-on-year increase. Donors are clearly listening to the market signals demanding a more technically literate workforce.
The Losers: Mental Health and Arts
Worryingly, funding for mental health services remains stagnant at less than 2% of total aid, despite rising rates of youth anxiety and depression. Similarly, arts and culture funding has plummeted.
Dr. Khun warns against this imbalance: 'We cannot build a nation of robots. We need to invest in the psychosocial wellbeing of our youth just as much as their technical skills.'
Forecast for 2026: We expect Climate Resilience to become the new dominant funding category as agricultural communities face increasing instability.
